WiC Nanaimo 10-Year Anniversary: Swing, Savour, Support

WiC Nanaimo’s annual summer event, Swing, Savour, Support is back!

This year we are also celebrating 10 years of Women in Construction Nanaimo so we hope to make this the biggest and best event yet!

Help us celebrate 10 years of WiC and raise money for two very worthy causes:

Loaves & Fishes Nanaimo – 25% of Nanaimo residents face food insecurity. L&F provides food to over 44 communities on Vancouver Island, with the help of their food recovery program supported by 33 grocery/food outlet partners and donations from a variety of other sources. A $1 donation to L&F equals $5 of food into our community. In 2023 L&F distributed over $8 million of good food to Vancouver Island residents.

Vancouver Island University Trades Access Fund – this fund pro-actively removes barriers by providing flexible support to underrepresented individuals and/or those facing financial need enrolled in a Trades and Applied Technology Red Seal programs, certificates, or sampler programs by providing flexible support. Support is available to learners year round based on need, and helps students overcome barriers that may hinder their ability to complete their studies

To start the evening we will have a section at the golf range for WiC attendees and a golf pro available for pointers on your swing. Come hit a few balls before the real fun begins inside with games, prizes, networking and good times!
