Every day in Canada, construction workers die on the job from incidents relating to fall protection or the lack of fall protection. Falls are the leading cause of death in the workplace for construction workers.
Any individual who works at a height of more than 3 meters must have fall protection training. Employers must ensure that a workplace is set up to prevent employees from falling off overhead platforms, elevated workstations or into holes in the floor and walls. In addition, companies that want to maintain their COR Compliance must have proof of fall protection training for all workers exposed to fall hazards.
*Please note that this is an awareness course only and does not include any hands-on training with fall protection equipment. If you are a job-seeker it is important to be aware that employers may require Fall Protection Certification obtained from a hands-on, in-person course.
