The Young Builders Network
VICA has two Young Builders Networks: one based in Victoria and one based in Nanaimo. The YBN Networks have two separate functions each month:
Leadership Meetings: Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings where we discuss and plan upcoming programming and annually elect new committee members.
Networking & Professional Development Events: All network members are encouraged to attend. These events vary by month and they will focus on fulfilling the YBN mandate, as stated below.
Past events have included Builders on the Barge, our annual Charity Casino where we raised over $10,000 for Help Fill A Dream, “Pitch n’ Putt” socials, as well as Leadership Round Table Discussions and Speaker Breakfasts with hot industry topics such as Lean Project Delivery. Mandate
To develop a network in order to provide an atmosphere of networking to build relationships within the construction community; to present information, professional development and leadership or mentorship opportunities that will benefit the individual YBN members and their respective companies; to participate in community engagement initiatives; and to support and promote career paths in the construction industry.
